3 - THE LAVA ROUTES: BETWEEN NATURE, ART AND FLAVOURS

An evocative experience among quarries, lava flows and vineyards. It begins with a visit to a lava basalt quarry with a view of the lava front of the 2001 eruption.

We will explain the basalt extraction method, we will let you touch some artifacts made with ceramicized lava basalt, you will “try” the natural magnetism of a lava basalt quarry and finally you will learn about some peculiarities of the extraction by-products and their use. Upon your return, you can immerse yourself among the rows of vineyards, learn about all the phases of working the land and the processes for producing wine.

You will then visit our ancient palmento and we will tell you how the grape harvest was carried out in ancient times. Then you will express your creativity by making the vinarello, a watercolor that uses wine in various concentrations as a colorant. Finally, a guided tasting of our Etna Doc wines awaits you, accompanied by a selection of cured meats, cheeses and other typical products.
